About the Artist
Hello lovely human! My name is Courtney, and I'm a Mandala artist and teacher. I started my Mandala painting journey in 2018, and my teaching in 2023. I've sold over a thousand original pieces online, in person at markets and in store fronts. I've taught over 40 in person painting workshops, public and private, in central Illinois.
Mandala painting has changed my life, in the best way. It's calming meditative process has made my mind slow down and relax, making my anxiety and depression almost completely fade away. I have found my calling.
Each piece takes days, sometimes weeks, and is filled with so much devotion and patience. All of my designs are completely freehand and made up as I go, making each piece unique. One of my favorite parts of the process, is choosing the color palettes and mixing the perfect colors. I also add lots of texture to my work by adding dimensional paint, mirror tiles, crystals, etc. within the design.
In 2022, I had the revelation that I HAD to teach others this artform. I started painting live on social media several times a week, hoping someone would be intrigued enough to try it, and have it possibly change their life too.
In the beginning of 2023, I got asked to come teach a workshop at a local Metaphysical shop. I was nervous and TERRIFIED, I normally don't do well in public speaking situations. But I knew this is what I've been waiting for, and I had to take the leap. Sure, I could fail and make a fool of myself...but what if I don't? I now teach 1-3 workshops a month, and those are my favorite days.
